Türk milletinin, düşmana karşı vermiş olduğu ulusal kurtuluş savaşında en büyük maddi dayanak noktalarından birisi demir yollarıydı. Osmanlı Devleti döneminden kalan Anadolu ve Bağdat demir yolu hatları cephelerin takviyesinde önemli rol oynamışlardı. Millî Mücadele döneminde Batı Cephesi’ne gerçekleşen asker ve mühimmat sevkiyatı, büyük ölçüde demir yolları vasıtasıyla gerçekleşmiştir. Yine, cepheden yaralı ve hasta askerler, cephe gerisine demiryolları vasıtasıyla taşınmıştır. İşte bu demir yollarından bir tanesi Bağdat demir yolu hattı idi. Bu hat Mersin’den Akşehir’e kadar olan Yenice, Pozantı, Ulukışla, Konya, Sarayönü, Çay ve Akşehir gibi istasyonlarıyla Batı Cephesi’nin asker ve mühimmat olarak ana dayanak noktasından birisiydi.
Bağdat demir yolu hattının önemli istasyonlarından biri olan Pozantı Tren İstasyonu ve onun arşivinden elde edilen belgeler vasıtasıyla, Batı Cephesi’ne yapılan sevkiyatın bir kısmını takip etmek mümkündür. Bu belgeler içerisinde sevk pusulası, irsaliye kaimesi, teslim mazbatası ve telgraflar ile çeşitli kurumlardan gönderilmiş emirler bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada adı geçen belgeler vasıtasıyla 1920, 1921 ve 1922 yılında Bağdat demir yolu hattı vasıtasıyla Batı Cephesi’ne gerçekleşen askeri sevkiyata bir ışık tutulmaya çalışılacaktır.
The railways were one of the major financial bases of the Turkish nation's national liberation war against the enemy. The Anatolian and Baghdad railway lines from the Ottoman period played an important role in the reinforcement of the facades. The shipments of soldiers and ammunition to the fronts were mostly carried out by railways. Again, wounded and sick soldiers from the front were transported back to the front via railways. One of these railways was the Baghdad Line. This line was one of the main pillars of the Western Front in terms of soldiers and ammunition with its stations such as Yenice, Pozantı, Ulukışla, Konya, Sarayönü, Çay and Akşehir from Mersin to Akşehir.
It is possible to follow some of the shipments to the Western Front through the documents obtained from the Pozantı Train Station Archive, one of the important stations of the Baghdad line. These documents include documents such as the delivery note, delivery note and delivery certificate. Through the documents mentioned in this study, it will be tried to shed light on the military dispatch to the Western Front through the Baghdad Line in 1920, 1921 and 1922.
